Things To Do in Yorkshire

Experience the best of Yorkshire.

If you’re the adventurous sort, you’ve got the entire county of West Yorkshire to explore, not just Leeds. Here’s just a handful of interesting things to do in West Yorkshire…

Yorkshire Sculpture Park (25 minute drive)
Explore the installations.

One of the best places to visit in Yorkshire, there’s around 100 sculptures to explore spread across 500 acres of 18th century landscape – you could easily spend the day at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. With installations from the likes of Damien Hirst and Simon Palmer, there’s plenty for you to see.

-

Eureka! The National Children’s Museum (40 minute drive)
Discover, learn, and PLAY at Eureka!

With six unique zones to discover like the latest interactive technology from around the world at the Spark Gallery and the Sound Space to learn about how to make sound, there are endless things for you to discover.

-

Standedge Tunnel (50 minute drive)
Take a canal trip.

Standedge Tunnel is the longest, deepest and highest canal tunnel in the entirety of Britain. Measuring at just over 5000m long, the tunnel truly is a feat of engineering. Take a boat trip through the tunnel or enjoy a stroll along the canal before stopping for coffee and cake at the nearby coffee house.

-

Emmerdale Village Tour (35 minute drive)
Take a walk around Yorkshire’s favourite village.

While there won’t be any filming, you can explore the real Emmerdale set on the actors’ day off. It’s an outside walking tour, so unfortunately there’ll be no nipping into The Woolpack for a quick pint, but there’s opportunities to take plenty of pictures.
